HGV and coach driving times are regulated for the whole EEC.

The tachograph records these times. If stopped by the police or highway authorities, the officer will check the disc or the ticket. If the driver has exceeded the maximum driving time, or not taken sufficient rest, he or she will face a fine from 750€ to 1500€ !

Europilot is an application which, for a very small fee, will replace the device of the same name and alert the driver when he or she is in danger of committing a time infraction.

The commercial version uses the iPhone GPS to automatically detect the correct driving and rest times. It is much easier to use, and there is no chance of the driver forgetting to activate it. It also lets you clock your weekly and monthly driving times, so you can check it easily against your payslip.

The Europilot app manages the times set by European regulations for goods HGVs and for coaches (personnel transport).
